FAQ'S

Below you can find answers to any common questions you may have!

Why is there white spotting on my candle?

Frosting and Wet Spots on Candle

A white crystallization sometimes found on the sides or top of the candle is "frosting" This is a unique and natural characteristic of soy wax. Some candles may also develop clear spots on the sides of the glass "wet spots" where you may notice the candle not adhering to the jar in a small area. This is due to temperature changes. Neither frosting nor wet spots affect the performance and/or fragrance of the candle in any way. It is not a defect. We do not issue refunds for this as it is a normal trait of soy candles.

How long should I burn my candle?

When you burn your soy candle for the first time allow the candle wax to melt across the entire top of the jar this will ensure your candle performs at its best throughout the life of the candle achieving an even burn without tunneling and maintaining the best scent throw approximately 3-4 hrs.

If you wish to burn your candle for a longer period, we recommend extinguishing the flame, trimming the wicks and relighting every 3-4 hours.

Do I need to trim the wick(S)?

Yes! Before your first burn and every burn thereafter ensure your wick is trimmed to 1/4” this will allow the candle to burn correctly all the way through the life of the candle as well as prevent dropping any soot into the wax and keep your candle wax clean. Always remove wick trimmings from the candle wax this will prevent it from possibly catching on fire.

Why is there black smoke coming from my candle?

This is usually caused by carbon deposits that build up at the top of the wick forming a ball called mushrooming. This problem can easily be solved by extinguishing the candle and trimming the wick to 1/4” and relighting. Always keeping wicks trimmed properly will prevent the candle from smoking or producing a large flame which can cause soot around the top of jars.

How should I store my candle?

Store candles in a cool and dry place out of direct sunlight.

Why does the top of my candle have a pitted texture at the top?

Natural 100% soy wax solidifies it is an attribute of soy wax and does not affect the quality of the candle and is not a defect.
